Singraj Yadav completed his BSc degree around 44 years ago. To support himself during his studies, he began selling soap door-to-door. Although it was a challenging endeavour, he never viewed any job as beneath him. Unfortunately, this venture did not yield the financial stability he had hoped for. Nevertheless, he regarded it as a valuable life lesson and continued to move forward on his journey.

Preparing for government jobs

While selling soap, Singraj Yadav recognized the importance of securing a respectable job. Determined to achieve this, he began preparing for a career in government service with aspirations of becoming a police officer. He took the exams multiple times, managing to pass the written test on several occasions, but unfortunately, he consistently fell short in the physical assessments. Despite facing these setbacks, Singraj remained resilient and refused to give up. However, after enduring repeated failures, he ultimately decided to set aside his aspirations for a government job and explore new opportunities instead.

Making glass handicrafts in Firozabad

After his attempts to secure a government job fell through, Singraj Yadav chose to venture into the business world. He began by creating glass handicrafts in Firozabad and soon formed a partnership with a prominent industrialist. This collaboration opened doors for him, and he later began crafting specialized glass items for the army, which became a significant turning point in his career. Driven by a desire to excel, Singraj dedicated himself to learning the intricate art of glass handicrafts, gradually mastering the craft and refining his skills.

Gaining international recognition

The quality and design of Singraj Yadav's glass items soon garnered international acclaim. Today, his handcrafted glass products are exported to Europe, America, and various other countries, with his company's annual turnover exceeding Rs 7 crore. In addition to his business success, Singraj is dedicated to giving back to his community by teaching glass handicraft skills to unemployed individuals in Firozabad. Hundreds of people have benefitted from his training. He empowers them to become self-reliant by starting their own small businesses. He also teaches them how to create baskets and other products from moonj grass, which are also exported internationally.
