Experiencing a couple of setbacks can diminish anyone’s hope of achieving their dreams. Most people eventually choose a different path after failing to overcome obstacles multiple times. Yet, Vikas D Nahar, hailing from a farmer’s family, who faced numerous failures in his life, refused to give up in the face of adversity. He established 20 failed business ventures that resulted in disappointments and losses. Despite the challenges, with an initial capital of Rs 10,000, he managed to build a company worth Rs 500 crore. Today, he is the co-founder and CEO of Happilo, a company that produces healthy snacks. Let’s read about his inspiring journey. 

Background

Vikas graduated in Computer Science from Bangalore University and went on to secure a job as Senior Import Manager at Jain Group. When he decided to pursue an MBA, he left his job and earned his degree from Symbiosis International University. Then, he started working as the Managing Director at Satvik Specialty Foods, where he gained significant experience that helped him start his own company. 

Quitting the job

He launched various startups that were unsuccessful. In 2015, he quit his job and started a venture in 2016 with just Rs 10,000 investment. The first few years were challenging to endure, but Vikas showed remarkable resilience. Today, Happilo is valued at Rs 500 crore. The products are available both on e-commerce sites and retail stores. 

Happilo's success

According to reports, Happilo, known for producing healthy snacks, offers 40 types of dry fruits, 60 types of spices, and 100 types of chocolates. Vikas believes that learning from failure is the key to success. He encourages young people to work hard to fulfil their dreams, and his own journey serves as an inspiration.
