Who is Sandeep Jain?
Sandeep Jain was born into a humble middle-class family in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. After finishing his early education, he pursued a BTech degree from APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University in Lucknow, graduating in 2004. He then went on to earn an MTech degree from IIT Roorkee. After completing his education, Sandeep worked for a major American software company from 2007 to 2010.
Leaving corporate job
However, after some time, Sandeep decided to shift his focus to education and left his corporate job to become an Assistant Professor at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology. During this period, he recognized that millions of students in India lacked access to proper resources and quality education, which greatly impacted their future prospects.
GeeksforGeeks: From blog to EdTech platform
In 2008, Sandeep founded GeeksforGeeks. Initially, it started as a simple blog designed to help engineering students prepare for placements. Through this blog, Sandeep aimed to explain complex computer science concepts in an easy-to-understand way. Over the years, this blog transformed into a comprehensive digital learning platform that now offers a wide range of educational resources for students.
