Dr Anjali Garg from Chandigarh is an outstanding achiever who has cleared not just one competitive exam but two. NEET and UPSC are considered two of the most challenging exams in the country. Initially, she successfully cleared NEET and pursued her MBBS degree. She then began preparing for UPSC while working at a government hospital. Balancing her job and exam preparation was tough, but Dr Anjali managed to achieve what seemed impossible. Today, she is an accomplished IAS officer. 

Background

Dr Anjali Garg was born on September 14, 1996. She completed her school education from Chandigarh, achieving 10 CGPA in class 10 and 96 percent marks in class 12. She earned her MBBS degree from VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi and subsequently began preparing for the UPSC exam. 

UPSC journey

Embarking on UPSC journey was challenging for Dr Anjali Garg because of her medical background. She struggled to grasp the basics initially but then developed a new study strategy and cleared her concepts. She appeared for several mock tests that helped her assess her preparation. Dr Anjali secured an impressive 79th rank in her second attempt, achieving her dream of becoming an IAS officer. 

Achieving dreams

Anjail Garg gave her first attempt during the pandemic. Her parents had contracted the virus, and the UPSC exams were postponed. Despite all the challenges, she continued with her preparation. Currently, she is serving as Assistant Commissioner in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. 

Dr Anjali was doing her internship at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi while preparing for UPSC. Balancing work with studies was extremely challenging. She would often attend her coaching sessions after 12-hour shifts, but lack of time never discouraged her from pursuing her dreams.
