Many people think that securing a good job signifies the completion of their educational goals. However, Ayush Goel had a different perspective. After advancing from a government school to IIM and landing a job with a yearly salary of Rs 28 lakh, he saw the position as a hindrance to his true aspirations. Taking a bold step, he chose to leave his well-paying job and dedicate himself to preparing for the UPSC exam. Today, he is a proud IAS officer in the Kerala cadre of the 2023 batch.

Education

Ayush Goel's completed his early education at Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya, a government school in Delhi. Starting out as an ordinary student with grand ambitions, he achieved remarkable success in his class 12, scoring 96.2%. After completing his management studies, he secured a job during campus placements with a salary of Rs 28 lakh per annum.

Quitting the job

Leaving a job with a salary of Rs 28 lakh, especially one secured just seven months earlier, can be a daunting decision for anyone. His decision to leave his job concerned his family, particularly his father, Subhash Chandra Goel, who had taken a Rs 20 lakh loan to support Ayush's education.

The family was concerned that their dreams might not be realized, but Ayush's steadfast dedication kept their hopes alive. Ultimately, his hard work paid off as he was selected for the IAS in the 2023 batch, achieving an All India Rank of 171 under the EWS quota and being allocated to the Kerala cadre.
