IAS Surabhi Gautam is one of the youngest IAS officers in the country, serving as an inspiration for thousands of aspirants all over the nation. Despite facing challenges with English, she successfully cleared her Civil Services Exam and secured an All India Rank (AIR) of 50.

Surabhi always showed interest in civil services, and in her 10th grade, she decided to become an IAS officer. Knowing what she wanted to do, started her preparation even before joining college. 

She was a mere 21 years old when she qualified for the UPSC Civil Services Exam (CSE). For many, the UPSC journey takes years and years of attempts but her passion and determination have led to her success.

Surabhi Gautam was born in Amdara village, Madhya Pradesh. Her father is an advocate at the Civil Court in Maihar, and her mother is a teacher. During her school days, Surabhi attended a Hindi-medium school in her village, which led to her struggles with English. 

However, she did not give up and made a commitment to herself to learn at least 10 new English words daily to enhance her communication skills. She completed her Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bhopal. Initially, she had her troubles with the language, but her hard work and perseverance enabled her to excel, topping the University and even earning a gold medal. 

After finishing college, she joined Bhabha Atomic Research Centre as a nuclear scientist. Later, she prepared and appeared for several competitive exams, including  GATE, ISRO, Delhi Police, MPPSC, and FCI. 

Surabhi secured an AIR-1 in the IES Exam in 2013, and an AIR-50 in the UPSC exam in 2016. She stands as a true example of breaking language barriers and working hard toward goals despite the challenges and setbacks encountered.
