Annapurna Singh hails from Lahoria village in Banka district of Bihar. Her journey to success is remarkable in every sense. While working a lucrative job in a reputed company, she decided to pursue UPSC preparation during the pandemic. 

After facing failure in her first attempt, she made the decision to resign from her job. Her friends and family expressed concerns about her choices, but through her achievement, Annapurna showed that she was destined for greatness in her life. In third UPSC attempt, she secured an impressive 99th rank in the year 2023. 

Education and UPSC preparation

Annapurna Singh earned a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from a college in Bengaluru. After completing her education, she landed a job at Intel as a semiconductor engineer. Amidst the pandemic, she made the decision to pursue UPSC exam alongside her job. Juggling between the pressures of her job and competitive exams proved to be quite challenging. For a more disciplined approach, she quit her job after her first failed attempt. 

Achieving success

Quitting a job from a multinational company is often seen as a risky move. However, Annapurna's determination soared above any doubts or fears. She relocated to Patna and dedicated herself to the UPSC preparation. She faced failure in her second attempt but remained steadfast to achieve her dreams. Eventually, her hard work paid off when she achieved 99th rank in UPSC 2023.
