Landing a high-paying job is a dream for many, often seen as a significant life achievement. However, Aseem Rawat, from Sikandarpur village in Ghaziabad, charted a different path. Despite a successful career spanning across the US and India, culminating in an IT Director position with a salary of Rs 4 lakh, he chose to leave it all behind. A TV debate on the plight of cows sparked a change within him, leading him to embrace the life of a dairy farmer. Today, he earns crores of rupees from his venture.
IT jobs
After 14 years in the IT sector, including 11 years as a Director in a renowned Indian company, Aseem decided to dedicate his time to animal husbandry. His family was taken aback by his decision to leave a secure and well-paying job. Their surprise turned into concern when he revealed his plans to start a dairy farm. His father expressed disappointment, questioning his choice to leave a comfortable life for the uncertainties of farming. However, Aseem was determined and refused to back down.
Hetha Dairy
He established his dairy farm, 'Hetha Dairy,' in Sikandarpur village, Ghaziabad, starting with just two indigenous cows. Today, his farm houses over 1000 cattle, including cows, calves, heifers, and bulls. He expanded his operations by establishing 'Hetha Nandishala' in Bulandshahr and another dairy farm in Champawat, Uttarakhand, where he raises the indigenous Badri breed of cows.
Exporting globally
Aseem diversified his business from milk production to include products derived from cow dung and urine. He also ventured into organic farming, introducing over 90 products to the market. His range of medicines and food items gained popularity, leading to exports not just within India but also internationally. Even during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, his dairy farm continued to operate, providing employment to over 80 people.
