Bhopal: Some business ideas are conceived in most mundane and unexpected situations. Aarin Ratnesh Sorathiya used to work as an HR in a reputed Mumbai-based company. During his 30-minute lunch break he would visit the local tea vendors to have lively conversations. Witnessing how tea vendors survive in expensive cities, he felt inspired to transition from HR to entrepreneurship. 

With a modest investment of Rs 5 lakh, he founded Haritima Food. His company provides tea leaves to vendors under the brand name ‘Chaiwale Ki Chaipatti.’ Today, his company boasts a turnover of Rs 1.5 crore. 

The beginnings

Aarin Ratnesh Sorathiya learned a crucial lesson inspired by the remarkable stories of tea vendors. He knew that the key to a successful business lies in sustaining oneself through challenges. He launched his brand Chaiwale Ki Chaipatti and started supplying tea leaves to local tea vendors. Presently, his company supplies tea leaves to over 10,000 cafes and restaurants nationwide. 

A wide range of products

Like most Indians, Aarin Ratnesh loves drinking tea. He even did a course in tea tasting before embarking on his business journey. The company was launched in the year 2016 with a single product, and today the product line has expanded to include 50-60 varieties. Aarin’s company has a range of flavoured tea and coffee which not only boosts the sales but also provides customers with interesting choices.  

Initially, Aarin had introduced a model under which payment was received after the sales of the products. This credit-based business proved to be unsuccessful, and he had to come up with another plan to reap profits.

A successful business

Aarin’s company faced setbacks during the period of lockdown when selling a single packet of tea leaves became a huge task. Despite all the challenges, Aarin persevered and continued his business. Today, the company offers 17 flavours of tea and more than 10 varities of coffee. With approximately 11 employees, the company distributes an annual salary of Rs 20 to 25 lakh, and the monthly turnover stands at around Rs 30 to 40 lakh.
