Kangana Ranaut recently won the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh for the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and was allegedly slapped by a CISF officer posted on the Chandigarh airport. The officer Kulwinder Kaur slapped the newly elected Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut igniting a wave of public outrage.

The incident occurred on Thursday and the officer has been suspended since then. Kulwinder Kaur was upset and hurt by Kangana's previous statement about the farmers' protest and said, "She gave a statement... that farmers are sitting there for ₹ 100. Will she go and sit there? My mother was sitting there and protesting when she gave this statement..."

Kulwinder Kaur revealed that she comes from a family of farmers and Kangana's remarks hurt her feelings and were disrespectful to farmers. The CISF officer is currently suspended and several police cases have been registered against her.

After reaching Delhi, Kangana Ranaut posted a video message to let her followers know that she is safe and talked about terrorism in Punjab. She said, "I am safe. The incident happened during the security check at the airport. The moment checking was done, a woman constable in CISF in a different cabin waited for me to cross her and she hit me on the face from the side and abused me. I asked her why she did this, and she said, It's because of the farmers' protest. What concerns me is the rise in terror in Punjab and how do we handle this."

The viral footage from the airport shows Kangana going into the security booth; however, the video does not show her getting slapped.
