The BMC has given a notice to fashion designer Manish Malhotra for illegal construction. But while it gave only 24 hours for Kangana Ranaut to respond, it has given him 7 days
Bengaluru: As the whole nation debates and discusses the hooliganism of the BMC officials as they razed down violated portions of actress Kangana Ranaut’s office in Mumbai on September 9, the BMC has also issued a notice to fashion designer Manish Malhotra over unpermitted changes in his building.
A popular website adds that the building under question is located at Nargis Dutt Road at Pali Hill in Mumbai’s Bandra, next to Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut’s house. The BMC also pasted a stop-work notice at the premises and have him seven days to respond to the allegations of illegal construction.
The notice has been to sent to Malhotra under section 342 and 345 of the MMC Act.
But here comes the twist!
It has given seven days’ time for him to provide a satisfactory response.
But when it came to Kangana Ranaut, the BMC had given her just 24 hours time to respond, that too, when it very well knew that she was in a different state.
The Bombay high court too expressed similar views and termed the bulldozing “malafide”.
Even as it stayed the razing down of the structure, the harm was done, with BMC personnel demolishing more than the actual violations.
Well, the Uddhav Thackeray government is behaving like a dictator. It filed a complaint against Arnab Goswami a few months ago. Now, a reporting team of Republic TV has been jailed, without giving them any legal representation. It has also taken revenge against Kangana Ranaut for openly expressing her dissent.
More shocking than the attitude of the government is how a few actors have behaved. While they condemn the arrest of Rhea Chakraborty, they have kept mum on the way the BMC has unleashed its fury on Kangana Ranaut.
But it is also interesting to note that NCP chief Sharad Pawar has expressed his displeasure over the incident of demolition.
