Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme will issue the 16th instalment in a few hours today. According to reports, the farmers will receive the funds at 12 pm. The funds will be transferred to the accounts of beneficiaries across the country through direct benefit transfer. 

The initiative is expected to deposit Rs 21 crore into the accounts of approximately 9 crore farmers across the country. Farmers who do not receive the funds are advised to update their e-KYC details promptly to avoid any issues.

What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme?

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme is a government initiative where the Central Government provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to farmers across the country. The funds are disbursed in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each. The scheme was first launched in February 2019 with the aim of empowering Indian farmers. Remarkably, this scheme also offers a pension for the future benefits of small and marginal farmers. 

Farmers can face payment issues if:
•    You have not completed the e-KYC and land records verification under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. 
•    You have provided incorrect information in the application forms. 
•    Your Aadhaar number is not linked to your bank accounts. 

To check whether you have received the instalment or not, follow these steps:
•    Visit the official website of PM Kisan at pmkisan.gov.in.
•    Search for ‘Farmers Corner’ section.
•    Click on ‘Beneficiary Status.’
•    A new page will appear. Choose any one option from Aadhaar number, bank account number, or mobile number.
•    Enter the required information and click on ‘Get Data.’
•    The status of your payment will appear on the screen. 
•    If the status appears as ‘FTO is generated and payment confirmation is pending,’ that means your payment is on the way.
