The Rajputana Automative Sports Car Club, Jaipur, organized the 25th Vintage & Classic Car Exhibition & Drive on 24th and 25th February 2024 at Jai Mahal Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The event featured the 1930 Rolls Royce originally owned by the Baroda’s royal family. The same car was a part of the classic Bollywood movie ‘Shatranj’ starring Ashok Kumar.
The Rajputana Automative Sports Car Club, Jaipur, organized the 25th Vintage & Classic Car Exhibition & Drive on 24th and 25th February 2024 at Jai Mahal Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan. An impressive collection of 120 cars dating back to 150 years was exhibited at the event. The prestigious car brands included Mercedes, Ford, and Cadillac. Notably, the exhibition also featured luxury cars owned by Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur. One of the cars was brought from Italy to be showcased at the event. Recently, the car was sent to Italy for restoration purposes.
Maharani Gayatri Devi’s vintage cars
In the 1960s, there were only two Mercedes cars in India, one of which belonged to Maharani Gayatri Devi. She served as the third Maharani of Jaipur from 1940 to 1949 and was also known as the Rajmata of Jaipur.
The event became a unique opportunity for the visitors to explore an extensive collection of cars from the vintage era and take selfies with these iconic vehicles. The vintage cars were brought from different states to be exhibited at the event. Some impressive models included the 1913 Ford, the 1931 Cadillac, and the classic Mercedes from 1960.

Judges were invited from Delhi, Mumbai, and Gujarat to select the best car at the exhibition. Some of the cars were brought from countries like America and Italy, adding to the charm of the vintage car event. Another highlight was the White Cadillac of the Bikaner’s royal family. This mesmerizing model became a popular selfie point for visitors. Also on display was a 1913 Ford car, owned by Amit Kumar, that added to the fascinating collection of vintage cars. Other impressive models included the 1947 Hudson Super Six and the 1957 Chevrolet Impala.
