After firing over 250 employees, Unacademy CEO Gaurav Munjal announced that the employees wouldn't be getting an appraisal this year. The ed-tech startup Unacademy announced last week that employees will not receive salary hikes this year due to the financial stress experienced by the company.

When the CEO Gaurav Munjal broke the news of no appraisal for the employees on the company's virtual town hall, the people noticed his designer T-shirt by the brand Burberry worth $400, or Rs 33,563. The irony of the moment went viral on social media and Gaurav is now facing backlash from netizens all across the internet.

A Reddit user posted the video on Reddit, pointing out the irony of the situation. The caption read, "This is Burberry Black Parker tshirt with embroidered logo. Yeah agreed that one shouldn't go after their personal stuff. But it is what it is."

Another user wrote, "Worse apology video than Travis Scott." One person replied to the comment and said, "Totally. Came across extremely disingenuous. To me it looked like he was trying real hard to not smile. Its all a joke for him. Ki main toh kama ke nikal gaya, who gives a hoot now."

One person commented, "These Ceo's won't lower their own standard of living but rather stop appraisals for the people who are running their businesses."
