Gorakhpur: An Uttar Pradesh man was arrested by Gorakhpur Police for allegedly raping and killing his 19-year-old daughter. The accused was arrested by police on Friday.

The incident came to light after the elder daughter of the accused raised a complaint against her father with Gorakhpur Police. The police said the man had raped his younger daughter several times in the past two years and then killed and decapitated her on the night of July 26.

Reports stated that the accused buried his daughter’s head in Urwa area and dumped the rest of her body in a drain. During questioning, the accused confessed to killing his daughter and added that he had raped his daughter several times in the last two years.

The mother of the victim had passed away 15 years ago, and the elder daughter married in 2015. After this, the younger daughter had been staying with her father.

When the victim failed to visit her on the day of Raksha Bandhan, the elder sister became suspicious and inquired with her father of her sister’s whereabouts. The accused then told her that he had killed his younger daughter.

The body of the victim has been recovered and a case of murder and rape has been registered against the man.

In a similar incident that occurred days ago, Uttar Pradesh Police arrested a man for allegedly raping his daughter, aged 15. The victim had allegedly been raped multiple times by her father over a period of six months.
