Bengaluru: The whole world is troubled today by the population explosion. The world's population has crossed 7.7 billion, where more than half of it stems from Asian countries like China and India.

According to a report, India will become the world's most populated country by 2027, chasing China. While there is so much trouble for grains, air, water and land, the report questioned what the present generation would leave for future generations?.

On the occasion of World Population Day, which was celebrated on July 11, UC Browser, in a survey, asked Indian users whether they are in favour of the 'one-child policy' like China in the country.  In this survey of UC Browser, about 45,000 users have given their opinion.

Figures were shocking as about 70% of the people reportedly claimed that there should be a single child policy in the country. If the policy is violated, the action that needs to be taken against the couple can be debated.

The direct impact of the growing population is on the progress of the country. According to a World Health Organisation (WHO) study in 2016, 14 of the world's 20 most polluted cities were from India.

According to the Water Aid report, 24% of the world's total groundwater is used by Indians, while people have harvested only 6% of the rainwater.

The root of all these problems is overpopulation. It is time to reinforce the growing population in the country, regardless of whether the government would take a step or not.
