Guwahati: In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old Hindu minor girl was abducted and raped by a Muslim boy in Assam’s Baksa district. The incident took place in Salbari area of the Bodoland Territorial Area.

According to the reports, the accused Aidur Ali introduced himself as Rahul Nath and allegedly portrayed that he belonged to a Hindu community in order to woo the victim.

The family members of the victim had lodged an FIR in Gobardhana police station. Later, the police arrested the accused on Monday.

The FIR stated that the victim was abducted by Aidul while she was on her way to her uncle’s home at Kalpani. Aidul took her to one of his relative's home at No 1 Salmara village, Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon district and raped her for two days. Moreover, Aidur, a resident of Bongaigaon district called the victim frequently. 

While local suggested that the incident was a case of love jihad, some claim that the accused committed similar crimes earlier.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested the accused and started investigation.
