Chunnilal Chadwas, Rajasthan Congress district president of Pali resigned from his post stating he is hurt by the undemocratic removal of Sachin Pilot
Bengaluru: Rajasthan Congress district president of Pali, Chunnilal Chadwas, resigned from his post. Chadwas said he is "hurt by the undemocratic removal of Sachin Pilot as state unit chief".
The Congress on July 14 sacked Sachin Pilot as the deputy chief minister of Rajasthan. Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala stated that Pilot has also been removed as the chief of the Pradesh Congress Committee as part of the disciplinary action against him.
The move comes after the Congress scion refused to participate in the Congress Legislature Party meeting twice.
Former Congress MP Priya Dutt lamented that her party had lost two stalwart young leaders with great potential- Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sachin Pilot. In a clear sign of support for Pilot, she maintained that being ambitious is not wrong. Moreover, she added that both these leaders had worked hard for the party through the most difficult times.
Sachin Pilot was sacked this morning. It is to be noted that he got calls from party members who frantically wanted to speak to him. Reports add that while Congress general secretary Priyanka Vadra had called him four times in the last two days, Rahul Gandhi had called him once and KC Venugopal had called him three times. Senior leader Ahmed Patel has made as many as fifteen calls to him, indicating Sonia Gandhi's desperation. Moreover, P Chidambaram had also called Pilot six times in an attempt to resolve the ongoing Rajasthan crisis.
Congress has lost two phenomenal leaders – also youngsters – as they have done remarkably well in bringing back Congress to power. The two states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh saw Congress staging a comeback in the last state elections.
