PK Mishra's appointment came after Nripendra Misra stepped down as the principal secretary to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi
New Delhi: Pramod Kumar Mishra, well known as PK Mishra on Wednesday (September 11) has been appointed as the new principal secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an official statement said.
Mishra was the additional principal secretary to the Prime Minister and was holding the rank of a Cabinet minister.
Recently, Nripendra Misra stepped down as the principal secretary to the Prime Minister. Modi had asked him to continue for two weeks.
Also, in another move, former Cabinet secretary PK Sinha has been appointed as the principal advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In August 2019, Sinha was appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Prime Minister's Office.
An official statement released by the higher officials reads, "The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of PK Sinha, currently functioning as OSD in the Prime Minister's Office, as Principal Advisor to Prime Minister with effect from September 11, 2019."
