According to police reports, Bijbehara has been put on high alert and the CCTV footages are being scanned. If reports are to be believed, National Conference leader Mohammad Ismail Wani was shot at when he was going for a meeting.
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader Mohammad Ismail Wani was shot at by terrorists on Thursday in Bijbehara of Anantnag district. He was rushed to the hospital and currently, has been put on the life supporting system.
According to reports, the block president of the Bijbehara block in South Kashmir is in critical condition.

"My @JKNC_ colleague Mohd Ismail Wani, block President Bijbehara block in South Kashmir of has been shot & injured. He has been referred to Srinagar. Praying for his recovery," Jammu and Kashmir ex-chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted after the incident.

Wani is the third NC member who has been shot at by terrorists in the past six months.
In October 2018, militants attacked the close aides of NC MLA for Habbakadal constituency Shamima Firdous at Karfali Mohalla.
