1049 senior voters aged between 100 to 120 years old are keen to vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Prayagraj has a total of 46,64,519 comprising 25,27,676 men, 21,36,224 women and 619 transgenders individuals.
Voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 starts on April 19. The nation is preparing to vote, but not just the youth, senior voters are also keen to participate in the decision-making. Among the 46 lakh voters in Prayagraj, there are 1049 voters aged between 100 to 120 years.
According to the District Election Office, Prayagraj, the electoral roll shows 1049 senior citizens registered to vote. Among them, 440 women and 414 men are aged between 100 to 109 years. Additionally, 3 men and 10 women aged between 110 to 119 years old, and 28 women and 44 men aged 120 years old.
The final voting list from Parayagraj shows 46,64,519 total voters comprising 25,27,676 men, 21,36,224 women and 619 transgenders. Speaking about this, District Election officer, Prayagraj, Navneet Singh Chahal said, "All voters are eager to exercise their franchise, including aged voters to whom we will extend all support.”
One of the senior voters from the list is Baijnath Dubey aged 95 years old from Mukundpur village. He is eager to vote for his candidate and contributes towards the future of the nation. “This may well be my last election. So I am very keen to cast my vote as a dutiful citizen. I cast my first vote when I was 22 and since then I have never missed an opportunity to cast my vote,” said Baijnath Dubey.
According to the Election Commission (EC), the voting for the 543 Lok Sabha seats will occur in seven phases which will be held on April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. The counting of votes will start from June 4.
