Days after the Special Investigation Team (SIT) claimed that 37 people from a 60-member WhatsApp group named 'Unity against Left' have been identified, the team has made more progress and claimed that the masked woman has also been identified
New Delhi: A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has claimed that the agency has identified the masked woman who was seen in the videos of JNU violence, and said that she hails from Delhi University.
"SIT team has identified the masked woman, who was seen in the videos of JNU violence. She is from Delhi University. She will be soon served notice to join the investigation," said the Delhi Police.
On Sunday (January 12), the Delhi Police sources had said that the SIT had identified seven more people who were allegedly involved in the violence that erupted in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on January 5.

Earlier, the Crime Branch that was investigating the case had identified and released photographs of nine suspects, including JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh.
According to police sources, statements of the warden, security guards and five students have been recorded by the police.
Thirty-seven people from the 60-member WhatsApp group named 'Unity against Left' have been already identified by the SIT, Delhi Police had said in a press conference on Friday.
According to police, the group was created against the Left parties on January 5, the day when violence broke out in JNU premises.
Earlier, the Crime Branch investigating the case of violence in JNU had identified and released photographs of nine suspects, including JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh.
DCP Joy Tirkey, who is heading a Special Investigation Team, said at a press conference that the suspects are Chunchun Kumar, Pankaj Mishra, Aishe Ghosh, Waskar Vijay, Sucheta Talukraj, Priya Ranjan, Dolan Sawant, Yogendra Bhardwaj and Vikas Patel.
On January 5, more than 30 students, including Ghosh, were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre after a masked mob entered the JNU campus and attacked students and teaching staff with sticks and rods.
