The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), a renowned IPL franchise with a massive following, holds a special place in the hearts of cricket enthusiasts worldwide. Despite their enduring popularity, the team has yet to secure an IPL trophy in their 16-year history, fostering a strong bond with fans, particularly those devoted to Virat Kohli.
Recently, an Indian student, Likhitha Suggala, residing in the United States, made a bold statement at her graduation ceremony by donning the iconic red and blue RCB jersey. Known for her unwavering support for Kohli, Suggala proudly displayed the RCB colours on stage after receiving her degree certificate, echoing a trend initiated by senior student Ruthvik Sankar.
Sankar had previously garnered attention by waving an RCB flag during his graduation ceremony, sparking a wave of admiration on social media. Following in his footsteps, Suggala showcased her allegiance to RCB, underscoring the profound impact the team has beyond the realm of cricket.
In a video shared on her Instagram, Suggala expressed, “Royal Challengers Bengaluru is a team that taught us many things beyond cricket. 15 years strong and still standing by my team’s side, true loyalty knows no defeat! Ruthvik Sankar, her senior, initiated the ritual, which her junior is now continuing. I hope my juniors will do the same.”
Despite RCB's mixed performance under Faf du Plessis' leadership this season, Virat Kohli has maintained his stellar form. Kohli, the IPL's second-highest run scorer, has amassed 500 runs in IPL 2024 at an impressive average of 71.42. Fans eagerly anticipate his next appearance as RCB faces the Gujarat Titans in Bengaluru on May 4, showcasing unwavering support for the team and its iconic captain.
