Preparations for Ganesh Chaturthi are in full swing. On September 7, Ganesh idols will be installed and worshipped. Ganesh Puja and immersion ceremonies will take place during the first and second week of September. For this, many people living in distant cities are in a hurry to return to their hometowns. During festivals, there are high chances of traffic congestion and disappointment due to unavailability of tickets. Therefore, Indian Railways has announced good news for Ganesh Chaturthi. It has arranged 342 special trains. These special trains will start operating from September 7.

Mumbai and Konkan route

In the first phase, Indian Railways will operate these 342 special trains on the Mumbai and Konkan route. Apart from this, special train arrangements will be announced soon from major cities including Bangalore. These special trains will run for 10 days from Mumbai on the Konkan route.

There was a demand for 300 special trains for Ganesh Chaturthi on the Mumbai-Konkan (Goa) route. However, considering the traffic congestion, the Railway Department has announced 342 special trains. Every year, lakhs of people travel from Mumbai on the Konkan route for Ganesh Chaturthi. They go to their homes to celebrate the festival. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that additional special trains have been provided this time.

Special trains

Special train services will be announced from other parts of the country soon. Indian Railways is gearing up for special train services in the wake of upcoming festivals including Ganesh Chaturthi and Diwali. Other railway divisions including South and South Western will announce special train services soon.

Now Vande Bharat train service from Bengaluru to Madurai will start from today (August 31). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off through video conference. Vande Bharat train will run from Bengaluru to Madurai and Madurai to Bengaluru 6 days a week. It will reach the designated station in 8 hours.
