A legal issue has arisen for the manager of One8 Commune-Bengaluru, co-owned by renowned Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, following allegations of operating beyond permissible hours. An FIR has been filed against the establishment for reportedly serving customers past the mandated 1 am closing time on July 6th.

According to the FIR lodged at Bengaluru's Cubbon Park Police Station, One8 Commune-Bengaluru was found operational at 1:20 am, which violates the stipulated closing time. Sources indicate that a sub-inspector, during routine night patrol duty, received information about the pub's extended operation. Upon inspection at 1:20 am, customers were still being served, prompting the filing of the FIR.

In addition to One8 Commune, enforcement action was reportedly taken against three other pubs for similar violations.

Virat Kohli, co-owner of One8 Commune, has expanded his venture to several major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata. The Bengaluru branch, situated on the sixth floor of Ratnam’s Complex on Kasturba Road, offers patrons scenic views of Cubbon Park and the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. This branch was launched in December last year.

Virat Kohli, who shares a deep connection with Bengaluru through his association with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has endeavored to create a unique dining and socializing experience at One8 Commune. The establishment has quickly become a popular destination for its ambiance and location.

The incident has drawn attention due to the involvement of a prominent personality like Virat Kohli and the legal implications surrounding adherence to operational guidelines for establishments serving alcohol in Bengaluru. Authorities are expected to take appropriate measures based on the findings of the FIR, highlighting the importance of compliance with regulatory norms in the hospitality sector.

Efforts to reach Virat Kohli or his representatives for comments on the matter were unsuccessful at the time of reporting. The developments in this case are being closely monitored as it unfold in Bengaluru's legal and public domains.
