Visakhapatnam (Vizag): In the early hours of Sunday, a tragic accident occurred on the NAD flyover in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, involving a high-speed motorcycle. Two out of the three individuals on the bike lost their lives as the vehicle collided with the flyover walls, propelling their bodies 40 feet down onto the road below. Tragically, the scene confirmed their deaths, but miraculously, one person survived the terrifying ordeal. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.
A CCTV camera in the vicinity captured the entire incident, and the footage has since surfaced online. The video depicts the motorcycle swiftly approaching the perilous section of the flyover, striking the edge with great force. It appeared that the rider lost control at that moment, leading to the fatal outcome for two passengers and leaving one critically injured.
Local media accounts indicated that the youths were returning from a birthday celebration, with no reports suggesting intoxication. The airport police are currently probing the matter. The identities of the deceased, Thanavarapu Kumar and A Pavan Kumar, remain undisclosed. The injured individual was taken to King George Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Notably, it is prohibited for motorcycles to access the flyover, which is designated primarily for heavy-duty vehicles like trucks. Despite clear signage cautioning against motorcycle usage, the trio disregarded these warnings.
