Shopian: An encounter has started between security forces and militants in the Shopian district of South Kashmir. 

According to reports, the gunfight is going on in the forest area of Yarwan in Shopian. It is believed that two to three militants are trapped there.

The security forces recently killed three terrorists in an encounter in Pulwama. According to officials, the slain terrorists belonged to Hizbul Mujahedeen.

The Indian Army’s fight against terrorism is going to strike a century soon with close to 85 terrorists being killed so far this year in Kashmir valley. 

Security forces are working extensively to make Kashmir terror free especially after fidayeen attack carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) on CRPF convoy in which 40 jawans were killed on February 14 in Pulwama.
