Bengaluru: Expressing serious concerns over the rising COVID-19 cases in the state, Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankar on Monday (September 14) urged everyone to be very careful.

Taking to his twitter handle, Dhankar said, “Corona issue is spiralling with Covid +ve @MamataOfficial exceeding two lacs and deaths close to 4,000. For those who believe this too shall pass, think again. Must wear a mask at all times and be exceedingly careful. More care qua elders and those with underlying illnesses.”

Jagdeep Dhankar tagged Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in his post.

Although the recovery rate has increased in West Bengal but the death toll is still rising. With time, the number of COVID-19 patients is also increasing in the state. A few days ago, the Kolkata Police Commissioner and BJP MP from Balurghat were found infected with COVID-19. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar is concerned about the situation.

The governor’s message to the general public is to always wear a mask and be more aware. Pay special attention to the elderly and sick people.

A few days ago, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh had raised questions about the state lockdown.  He claimed that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is issuing lockdown only to stop BJP leaders and workers. Thus, it is being understood that the state governor tweet was indirectly hinted towards the state president.
