Akshay Kumar has responded to PM Modi’s call for generous donations in his PM CARES Fund by donating Rs 25 crore
Bengaluru: Cine actor Akshay Kumar displayed extreme generosity and selflessness as he has decided to donate Rs 25 crore to PM CARES Fund.
The PM had put out a tweet in this regard earlier today.
In his tweet, the PM had said,
“The PM-CARES Fund accepts micro-donations too. It will strengthen disaster management capacities and encourage research on protecting citizens. Let us leave no stone unturned to make India healthier and more prosperous for our future generations.”
To this, Akshay Kumar replied.: “This is that time when all that matters is the lives of our people. And we need to do anything and everything it takes. I pledge to contribute Rs 25 crores from my savings to

Covid-19 has really caused a lot of worries. At the time of writing this report, the number of deaths in India stands at 21 while the affected remains at 922. Globally, deaths stand at 27862, while the affected stands 601478.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the United States rose past 100,000 on Friday (March 27), according a tracker run by Johns Hopkins University. Over 1,500 people have died. The highest number of cases is in the state of New York, at over 44,000. Out of this, over 25,000 COVID-19 cases have been reported in New York City alone.
The death toll in Spain rose to 4,858, after 769 people died in a 24-hour span. Spain has over 64,000 COVID-19 cases.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Friday that he too has tested positive for Coronavirus and is in self-quarantine.
As of now, the best preventive measure available is to stay indoors and maintain social distancing.
