Co-chair of Gates Foundation has eulogised PM Narendra Modi for taking efficient steps in combating Covid-19.
Bengaluru: Bill Gates, the co-chair of Gates Foundation eulogising PM Narendra Modi should come as the latest compliment and a corroboration of Modi’s strident and decisive steps in combating Covid-19.
He said, "I’m glad your government is fully utilizing its exceptional digital capabilities in its Covid-19 response and has launched the Aarogya Setu digital app for coronavirus tracking, contact tracing, and to connect people to health services."
The IT tycoon also added that Modi was trying to balance public health imperatives with the need to ensure adequate social protection for all Indians.
While Gates was effusive in praise of PM Modi, the Prime Minister also enjoys the status of most highly rated leader among all global leaders amid the coronavirus outbreak.
If these encomiums come from global network, a survey conducted by IANS C Voter has found out that 93 percent of Indians trust PM Modi and the steps he has taken to tackle the covid crisis.
What these further emphasise is that the entire world looks upon Modi with respect and admiration. And it doesn’t hold itself back from congratulating the PM for his decisions to stem the spread of the virus.
PM Modi has been in the vanguard ever since the threat of coronavirus creating havoc set in.
From announcing and extending lockdowns to exhorting people to extend support to soldiers with stethoscopes by ringing bells or lighting lamps, PM Modi has taken some unique steps in combating the virus.
And add to it, the PM has also used his digital acumen to drive home more benefits for the citizens. For example, the Aarogya Setu app which helps people battle the virus.
In fact, when Bill Gates praised PM Modi, he also mentioned the digital aspect and how he has made use of it.
Lastly, the PM has also laid stress in identifying hotspots for isolation, quarantining and care and significant increase in health expenditure to strengthen health response and also R and D.
These will go a long way in flattening the curve.
