A Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA, Koneti Adimulam, is facing serious allegations of sexual assault following a woman's complaint, according to local media reports. An FIR has been lodged against Adimulam, who represents the Satyavedu Assembly Constituency in Andhra Pradesh.

The controversy erupted when a video, allegedly showing a man and a woman engaged in a sexual act, surfaced on social media. The authenticity of the video and whether Adimulam is featured in it remain unconfirmed. The exact location and timing of the footage are also unclear.

Adimulam has vehemently denied the allegations. In a phone conversation with Big TV, a news outlet, the MLA claimed that the video circulating online is doctored. He accused certain leaders within his own party of orchestrating a conspiracy against him and denied any association with the woman in question.

Social media reports have cited the woman’s statements, which indicate that the MLA previously referred to her as his 'sister.' There are also unconfirmed reports suggesting that the woman is the head of the TDP's women's wing from Satyavedu.

Adimulam, who previously served with the YSR Congress Party, joined TDP after being denied a ticket for the 2024 assembly elections. His move to TDP allowed him to become a candidate in the current elections.

Following the allegations, a video featuring a woman with her face covered has emerged on social media. According to a post by 'Telugu Scribe,' the woman appears to be addressing media representatives at a press club in Hyderabad. However, this footage does not provide clear evidence regarding the claims.

The Telugu Desam Party has not yet issued an official statement in response to the allegations. This incident comes amid a broader trend of women in Indian politics making allegations of sexual misconduct against male leaders.
