Amul will soon make its US market debut by launching four variants of the Amul Fresh Milk range. GCMMF and MMPA are partnering together to launch Amul Taaza, Amul Shakti, Amul Slim n Trim, and Amul Gold. MMPA will handle the collection and production of the products, while GCMMF will be responsible for marketing and branding.
Amul is the biggest dairy brand in the nation and soon is going to be sold all over the US. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the marketer of Amul dairy products is set to launch four different types of milk in the USA. The major focus of the launch is to tailor towards the demands of the Indian and Asian demography.
GCMMF and the Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) are partnering to sell the Amul Fresh Milk range in New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Washington, Dallas, Texas and other regions.
Speaking about the new international venture, Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMF said, “We have been exporting dairy products for many decades. This is the first time we are launching fresh milk outside India.” He added, "The GCMMF has tied up with 108-year-old cooperative organisation Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) to launch fresh milk in the US market."
According to Jayen Mehta, the milk will be collected and processed by MMPA and the marketing and branding will be done by GCMMF. The products sold will be Amul Gold, Amul Taaza, Amul Shakti, and Amul Slim n Trim with their original recipes.
The announcement was made during the 108th annual general meeting of the Michigan Milk Producers Association. Mehta also talked about introducing more dairy products like curd, paneer, and buttermilk in the upcoming years.
GCMMF is the largest exporter of dairy products in India. It has experienced colossal growth in the market, during 2022-23, GCMMF experienced a turnover of Rs. 55, 000 crore.
