Indian Railways has introduced the new high-speed Vande Bharat Express train connecting Uttar Pradesh to New Delhi. Covering the distance between Agra and Delhi in just 1 hour and 30 minutes, this is among India's fastest train services.
The Vande Bharat Express will operate between Agra in Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi at a speed of 160 km. This is a significant improvement over other trains on the same route, which take 2 to 4 hours to complete the 200 km journey.

The 16-coach train will reach New Delhi via Agra and Lucknow stations. Vande Bharat is designed to connect cities that are 150 to 200 km apart. As of 2024, India's fastest train is the Vande Bharat Express.
This train is also called Train 18, which runs at a speed of 180 kilometers per hour (112 miles per hour). However, for safety and operational reasons, it usually runs at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour (99 miles per hour).
The Vande Bharat Express is an Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) introduced in 2018. It has enhanced safety features and facilities including KAVACH technology, 360-degree rotating chairs, toilets suitable for Divyangjan and integrated Braille signage.
