5 Rare animals only found in India

India boasts a long list of diverse flora and fauna. There are several animals that can only be found in India, like the snow leopard, dugong, and Indian rhino.
Dugong
Dugong is also known as 'Sea Cow'. These are massive vegetarian mammals generally found in warm coastal waters of the Indian Ocean.
Gee Golden Langur
These are India's highly endangered species. These primates are found in areas along the Indo-Bhutan border and prominently in the western Assam area.
Himalayan Wolf
Himalayan Wolves are the subspecies of Gray Wolves and are critically endangered animals. These fluffy giants reside in the Himachal Pradesh region and in small pockets of Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and Arunachal Pradesh.
Snow Leopard
These majestic creatures are highly endangered. They are spread across the Himalayan belt and reside in the snowy forests of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh. Their sightings are extremely rare, as these big cats can easily camouflage in the snow.
Indian Rhino
These lovable giants are also known as 'One-horned rhinoceros'. They are majorly found in the states of West Bengal and Assam.
