Meet Ambika Raina, an architect who left a Swiss job to crack UPSC with AIR-164

Success Story: Ambika Raina, daughter of an Indian Army Major General, achieved success in the UPSC exam after leaving her comfortable career in Switzerland. After securing 164th rank in UPSC CSE in 2022, she is now working as an officer in the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS). Her journey is an example of courage, hard work, and commitment to a greater purpose.

Born in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, Ambika's childhood was spent under the discipline of the Indian Army. Her father was a Major General, due to which she lived in various cities and became acquainted with different cultures. This broadened her thinking and developed a sense of doing something for society.

Ambika obtained a degree in Architecture from CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Due to her talent and innovation potential, she got an internship in a top architecture firm in Switzerland. There, she found an attractive job and bright international career prospects, but the dream of serving the country brought her back to India.

After returning to India, Ambika started preparing for the UPSC exam, but did not succeed in the first two attempts. Despite this, she did not give up and dedicated herself to improving her weaknesses.

In her third attempt, Ambika secured 164th rank in UPSC CSE and was appointed to the IAAS service. Her success was not only the result of her study strategy, but also her mental strength and ability to accept the unpredictable aspects of the exam.

Today, Ambika is a source of inspiration for the youth preparing for UPSC. Through social media, she shares her journey, strategies, and inspiring thoughts, benefiting thousands of candidates.

As an IAAS officer, Ambika is now auditing government financial accounts and ensuring transparency and accountability. Her commitment and passion demonstrate that with the right intentions, anyone can bring about big change.
