India is a land of a myriad temples. Every temple is steeped in history and has a story to narrate.

The Hidimbeshwara temple is located in the Chitradurga Fort
It is here that the mighty Bhima fought a demon by name Hidimb while he was roaming around in exile
After he killed the demon, his virtuous sister, Hidimba, married him
It is said that rocks lying around here were used as weapons and tools by both Bhima and Hidimb
It is also interesting to note that a broken tooth of Hidimb is on display in the temple shrine
It is said there is a drum on display here that purportedly belongs to Bhima
