To help citizens in remote areas, Dantewada, Chhattisgarh has initiated telemedicine Mobile phone with rightwards arrow at left services, which have helped in increasing the reach of doctors.

Telemedicine refers to the technology, using which patients can get medical care at the place they are. The absence of the physical presence of the patient is certainly not an issue.  

It is not only cost-effective but also a boon for patients living in remote areas. It also enhances patient engagement. It started in the 1950s.

In simple terms, it is healing from a distance. It becomes a boon, especially during the ongoing pandemic times, where physical presence only enhances risks of contracting the virus.
