Crispy Dosa
Many people have switched to non-stick pans because they are unable to maintain the iron dosa tawa. But, making dosa on a hot iron tawa is considered good for health. Let's learn some tips and tricks on how you can make crispy dosas every time.
The main problem is that the iron dosa cloth sticks. This reduces its smoothness and makes it difficult to make dosas. Take a clay lamp (or a small piece of red brick) and rub it on the dosa tawa where the rust is. This will remove the carbon and rust.
After removing the rust and carbon, wash and clean the tawa thoroughly and use it. You will get super crispy dosa.
There is another way to clean the iron dosa tawa. Take a lemon, cut it in half, dip one half in rock salt and rub it well on the dosa tawa. Continue rubbing like this for a few minutes. By doing this, rust, stains, oil stickiness will all go away.
Before using the dosa tawa, cut an onion in half, lightly coat it with oil and rub it on the stone. Then if you make dosa, it will not stick to the tawa and will come out well.
