• Before the auspicious time on the morning of August 19, Monday, prepare by arranging all Rakshabandhan items, including kumkum, rice, sweets, Rakhi, a water-filled pot, and a coconut on a plate.
• During the auspicious time, the brother and sister should sit facing each other. The sister should apply kumkum and rice on her brother's forehead and place a coconut in his hands, preferably one filled with coconut water.
• Next, the sister ties the Rakhi on her brother's right wrist while reciting mantra.
