Dalia is a good source of protein, with roughly 12 grams per 100 grams of serving. Protein helps to reduce hunger because it digests slowly. The vitamin also reduces the hunger hormone ghrelin.
It is because the weight-loss journey is not a one-day task. It requires effort, perseverance, and a healthy lifestyle to keep the process going for a long time. Instead, health professionals urge a clean and nutritious diet for slow but efficient weight loss. This means you'll need a variety of weight-loss-friendly dishes that are also delicious.
In this post, we've included a recipe that is not only high in protein but also tastes fantastic.
Ingredients Required:
1. Daliya
2. Vegetables (tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, and chilies)
3. Spices
4. Water
5. Ghee
Method of Cooking:
Step 1: Heat the cooker, then add 2 teaspoons of oil, 3/4 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1 medium red onion, 2 teaspoons of ginger, and a chopped green chile (if using).
Step 2: Stir and simmer for about 3 minutes, until the onions are softened. Then add the veggies: diced carrots (from two medium carrots), 1/2 cup green peas (frozen), and two medium-sized tomatoes.
Step 3: Add 1/2 cup daliya and mix everything well. Add two glasses of water. The amount of water used varies according to the consistency you like. My mom usually makes it a little runny, so this amount works best for me. You can also add more water for a runnier texture.
Step 4: Add 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and salt to taste. Stir and shut the lid.
Step 5: Press the manual or pressure cook button, then cook for 8 minutes on high pressure with the pressure valve sealed. Allow the pressure to naturally dissipate for 10 minutes before performing a rapid release.
Step 6: Open the pot and whisk it around. Garnish with coriander before serving. You can also add some lemon juice just before serving.
