Nag Panchami is observed on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha in the Sawan month, and this year, it falls on August 9. On this day, devotees worship the snake deity, who is revered as a manifestation of Lord Shiva, and also offer milk to the snake god. To attract prosperity to your home on Nag Panchami, make sure to prepare these two bhog (offerings). Here are two easy recipes for you.

Bhog Laddus

Preparing churma laddus holds special importance on Nag Panchami and can be easily made at home. You will need the following ingredients:

•    500 grams of wheat flour
•    400 grams of powdered sugar or jaggery
•    100 grams of mawa
•    100 grams of mishri
•    0.5 teaspoon of saffron threads
•    2 teaspoons of ground cardamom
•    Ghee as needed
•    1 teaspoon of rose water

Follow these instructions:

Step 1- To prepare traditional churma laddus, start by mixing ghee into the wheat flour and kneading it into a stiff dough.
Step 2- Shape this dough into large balls, then heat ghee in a pan and deep-fry the balls until they are golden brown.
Step 3- Once cooled, crush them into a fine powder and sift through a thick sieve. Set this aside.
Step 4- Blanch the pistachios in hot water, then chop them finely or grind them coarsely. Mix saffron with rose water and combine it with powdered sugar.
Step 5- Roast the mawa on a low flame until it turns light brown.
Step 6- Add the roasted mawa, sugar, ground cardamom, and pistachio to the prepared flour and shape into laddus.
Step 7- If the mixture is too dry to form laddus, you can add a little more ghee.
