Sonu Sood, renowned for his philanthropic and humanitarian work, is gaining attention for his recent crowdfunding campaign for a child suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 2. The 22-month-old baby, Hridyansh, was diagnosed with this uncommon genetic condition. The treatment required an expensive medial injection, priced at Rs 17 crore. This fundraiser, led by Sonu Sood, successfully raised Rs 9 crore. 

Crowdfunding

Hridyansh's family started the campaign back in March, which received widespread support from people. Prominent personalities such as cricketer Deepak Chahar and actor Sonu Sood extended their support to the cause.

According to IANS, the injection has been administered to the baby suffering from SMA.

Sonu Sood has consistently showed his dedication to assisting those in need. His fundraising efforts have remained steadfast, and the support he has received across the nation has been notable. During the pandemic period, he emerged as a messiah who went out of his way to be of help to those in need. 

Sonu Sood's directorial debut

On the professional front, Sonu Sood is set to make his directorial debut with the film ‘Fateh.’ Reportedly, this Bollywood film is a joint venture of Shakti Sagar Productions and Zee Studios. Sonu Sood will be seen alongside Jacqueline Fernandez in the film. ‘Fateh’ is set to release in the theatres later this year.
