The actor said the continuous media glare and scrutiny do not bother or scare him though he wishes differently for his children – Misha and Zain
Shahid Kapoor is on cloud nine after becoming a father for the second time. His wife Mira Rajput gave birth to their son Zain on Wednesday last week. In his professional life, Shahid’s film Padmaavat which was released a few months back broke all box office records. Now, his next movie Batti Gul Meter Chalu is also ready for release.
The actor said the continuous media glare and scrutiny do not bother or scare him though he wished differently for his children. The actor added he is aware of the pros and cons of the paparazzi culture saying, "If I don't post the pictures of Misha, somebody will click her and that is my reality. I wish I could draw a line... I would have drawn it long back. People should draw a line. Children when they are in natural spaces they should not be made so conscious of themselves. It is part of my job and I know what comes with it. I am doing my best to find comfort with it."
For himself, the actor says, "These days you get noticed a lot, it has all changed. I think the kids who are starting out and who are new should worry about it. I don't get scared by overexposure, I have been here for 15 years."
It's his passion for acting that makes Shahid Kapoor push himself as a performer, but he is also aware of the fact that taking too many risks as an actor is "illogical". Shahid made his way into the hearts of the audience with his charming looks in films like "Ishq Vishk", "Vivah" and startled everyone with his performance in "Kaminey", "Haider" and "Udta Punjab"
"It is illogical to keep taking risks and doing different things but there is a need to rediscover yourself every time. Today, the audience wants different things," he told PTI. "I want to grow and reach out to a wider audience. I want to tell stories that are new, different and exciting without having to sacrifice on any creative cravings that the team might have. It is a tough combination," he added.
For now, Shahid is looking forward to the release of "Batti Gul Meter Chalu" and will soon start working on the Hindi remake of "Arjun Reddy" and a film with director Raja Krishna Menon of "Airlift" fame.
