Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt released the teaser of his home production film titled Prasthanam on his 60th birthday. The political drama is a remake of a Telugu film released in 2010. The film is directed by Deva Katta, who also helmed the original Telugu version.

The teaser opens with the entrance of Sanjay Dutt with his voice over saying, “Haq doge toh Ramayan shuru hogi, chhinoge toh Mahabharat.” The teaser also showcases a gripping and power-packed performance from Dutt and Ali Fazal.

The cast of the film also includes Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Amyra Dastur and Satyajeet Dubey in the lead roles.

The original film narrated the story of a politician and the complex relations prevailing in his family. The director has said that there have been no major changes made in the Hindi version of the movie. He reportedly said that there are no fundamental changes to the story, except refining and polishing the canvas. He said that he has rewritten the screenplay and that Farhad has provided the dialogues.

The movie is produced by Dutt’s wife and CEO of Sanjay Dutt Productions, Maanayata Dutt. The movie is scheduled to release on September 20 this year.
