Sona Mohapatra has shared multiple tweets talking about Salman Khan taking digs at Priyanka Chopra for quitting his film Bharat.
Netizens seemed divided on Salman Khan's jibe at Priyanka Chopra Jonas over the latter's exit from 'Bharat'.
While the comment didn't go down well with a section of netizens, fans of the Bollywood superstar extended support to him on social media.
Salman got embroiled into controversy recently after he took a dig at Priyanka for walking out of 'Bharat' to marry Nick Jonas. Salman said the makers of the film had offered her to delay the project to work around her schedule, but she still quit the film. He went on to add that actors would leave their husbands to be a part of a film like this.
Cus @priyankachopra has better things to do in life, real men to hang out with & more importantly, girls to inspire with her journey. 🤟🏾🔴

His comments didn't go well with a few, including singer Sona Mohapatra.
A showcase & poster child of toxic masculinity. Low brow dig at not only a woman who was not in the room but a disgusting disregard & contempt for the woman & colleague sitting next to him in the same room. Unless we call out such serial bad behaviour, nothing changes, #India .🔴 https://t.co/NuEmOWQl12

Trying telling that to his fans who shadow his toxicity & are calling her derogatory names on my timeline. They meme her 10 year age gap with her husband but conveniently forget that their idol is close to 20 years older than her. Grow up, you fools, I say to them.🙏🏾🔴 https://t.co/M9sthpUQd1

"Cus Priyanka Chopra has better things to do in life, real men to hang out with and more importantly, girls to inspire with her journey," Sona tweeted.
"A showcase and poster child of toxic masculinity. Low brow dig at not only a woman who was not in the room but a disgusting disregard and contempt for the woman and colleague sitting next to him in the same room. Unless we call out such serial bad behaviour, nothing changes, #India," she added.
However, Salman's fans didn't like the criticism and backed the superstar using the hashtag "Paid Media Can't Harm SALMAN'.
"Media people in front of Salman Khan -> Huge fan of yours sir. Wow your stardom. Media people at Salman's back - Involved in negative paid articles. #PaidMediaCantHarmSALMAN," one fan wrote.
Another one added, "He pays 90 per cent of his income to the needy poor people of India, still some m****s hate him with no reason... Jeete hai shaan se Salman bhai k fan ke naam se."
One fan said that Salman is a "Public Made Star, Not A Media Made Star".
After Priyanka walked out of 'Bharat', Katrina Kaif was roped in to replace the 'Quantico' star.
In a recent interview, Salman said, “After all this, the ‘Nick story’ happened, the embarrassing thing happened and she chose to get married... Look, she did the right thing. She did what she wanted, and Katrina got what she deserved. She (Priyanka) informed us five days before the schedule was supposed to start... she must have thought that in this way I would get upset with her and will never work with her.
“She spoke to me saying, ‘Nick has proposed to me and I want to get married, so there will be some date issues’. I said, ‘Sure, get married, we can adjust those two, three days. Then she said that she does not want to do the film.”
Salman said he sees Priyanka as a hard-working actress, who efficiently maintains her career in Bollywood as well as in the American entertainment industry; he said it takes guts to leave one of the biggest films of her career to get married.
Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, 'Bharat' is set to hit the big screens on June 5.
