Rashmika Mandanna and Rakshit Shetty have been facing compatibility issues lately. So they decided to call off their engagement
Kannada actress Rashmika Mandanna, who is currently basking in the success of her blockbuster Telugu release Geetha Govindam, has called off her engagement with Kannada actor-director Rakshit Shetty.
Earlier, there were rumours about Rashmika breaking up her relationship with her Kirik Party's director Rakshit Shetty. However, the actress had rubbished the reports then and said that everything was fine between them.
Now, looks like those rumours have turned out to be true. According to reports, their engagement is called off and sources have said that they have mutually decided to end their relationship owing to "compatibility" issues.
The duo's relationship hit a rough patch as many issues seemed to have cropped up between their families.
A source close to the actress revealed, "Rashmika decided after consulting with her parents, family elders and friends. It was a tough decision to make, but she is showing a lot of character in overcoming this personal and emotional setback."
The source also added that Rashmika wants to concentrate on her career.
"She has been receiving some exciting offers in Telugu and Kannada and wants to cement her place in both the industries," the source told a newspaper.
On the other hand, Rakshit was harassed by his fans on various social media platforms over Rashmika's bold scenes in her Telugu movie Geetha Govindam with Vijay Devarakonda.
Later, Rakshit decided to quit social media websites saying, "I am taking a leave from all social media. Thank you, everyone, for the immense love you guys have showered on me. I Love you all (sic)."
Rashmika and Rakshit, who fell in love with each other on the sets of Sandalwood blockbuster Kirik Party, got engaged on July 3, 2017.
