Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar on Tuesday, November 13, announced that the release date of the much anticipated epic drama has been pushed back by 4 months.
It's officially confirmed. Brahmastra is all set to hit the screens during Christmas 2019. Producer Karan Johar just made the big announcement on Twitter saying, “PART 1!!!! #BRAHMASTRA.”
Karan announced the new release date of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's Brahmastra. Director-producer Karan on Tuesday announced that the first part of Brahmastra will hit the theatres in India during Christmas next year.
For people who are wondering why the mention of Part 1, it's because Brahmastra is a fantasy film that's going to be released in three different parts - a triology like they call it.
Earlier, the movie was scheduled to release on August 15, 2019 but now that slot has been booked by Akshay Kumar's Mission Mangal. Starring Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha and Sharman Joshi, the film will go on floors soon.
Meanwhile, Ranbir and Alia have resumed the shooting of Brahmastra. After wrapping up Bulgaria schedule, they have begun shooting in Mumbai.
Talking about Brahmastra, Alia Bhatt recently told a leading magazine, “It's my most action-heavy film but it's a different kind of organic action, not dishoom-dishoom.”
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the movie also features Amitabh Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.
The movie will see Ranbir playing a character with special powers. The team recently completed a shooting schedule in Bulgaria.
