The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the plea seeking stay on the release of PM Narendra Modi, a biopic on the life of Prime Minister Modi.
Mumbai: The Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition filed by a Congress activist seeking stay on the release of the biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The apex court said it was not entertaining the petition for the stay on the release of the film as the plea is "premature" and the movie has not yet been certified by the Censor Board.
It even said that if the film is released on April 11, as claimed by the Congress activist, it will be appropriate for him to seek a redressal from the Election Commission.

The biopic has been in the eye of the storm ever since the beginning. Earlier lyricist Javed Akhtar accused the filmmakers of giving him unecessary credit and took to Twitter to voice his disapproval. However, producer Sandip Ssingh cleared the air about the mysterious credits and it turns out it was all in the name of giving credit where it is due. Ssingh confirmed that the biopic uses two old songs which were written Akhtar as well as Sameer.
