After earning applause for Sacred Games and Manto where he essayed the roles of gangster Ganesh Gaitonde and writer-poet Saadat Hasan Manto respectively, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently shooting for Thackeray.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui will next be seen in Shiv Sena's late political supremo Bal Thackeray's biopic which is slated to release on 23 January 2019, on Thackeray's birthday anniversary.
Thackeray’ biopic will be shot in Hindi and Marathi and later dubbed in English. The film has been in news ever since it was announced.
Few pictures from the set for the movie are circulating on the internet. Well-known film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and shared the look of the actor along with the release date of the film.

In the picture, Nawazuddin is wrapped in a saffron shawl and wearing Thackeray’s thick full-rimmed glasses. Nawaz mirrors Thackeray to perfection.
The movie is directed by Marathi filmmaker Abhijit Panse, who gave a hit movie Rege. Thackeray has been written by Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut, who will also produce the film.
The teaser of the movie was unveiled by Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Amitabh Bachchan in December 2017.
Bal Thackeray was one of the iconic politicians who started his career as a cartoonist in Marmik, Saamna. Later he formed Shiv Sena, which is a regional political party in Maharashtra that ruled the political scenario of the state for around 50 years. He passed way in November 2012 due to cardiac arrest.
Nawazuddin in on cloud nine as he has some big budget movies in his kitty including Genius, Ghoomketu and Shoebite. He will also be seen in Rajinikanth’s upcoming film with director Karthik Subbaraj.
