Varsha Solanki always loved dancing however, the burden of responsibilities and poverty stopped her from achieving her dreams. Solanki spent most of her childhood surrounded by the harsh reality of poverty. On a normal day, she would accompany her mother to clean dishes in other people's houses.
The family was greatly affected by her father's struggle with alcoholism. Talking about her early life to Better India, Varsha said, “I remember those days vividly,” Varsha recalled. “My mother and I would go from house to house. When she couldn’t manage, I would step in. It was how we survived.”
Amid all this, her love for dance did not seem as important as survival. She added, “When responsibilities came, everything else had to stop.”
Varsha's life eventually got consumed with marriage and motherhood as the years went by, but her passion for dancing never entirely faded. It just needed the appropriate time to flare up again. It was via social media that she regained her interest.
Varsha uploaded her first video, strongly wanting to follow her passion and share her work with the world. Short dancing and comedy videos quickly developed into something more. However, all things have two sides. At first, she encountered cruel mocking and trolls attempting to undermine her. Varsha didn't give up easily. Her videos soon started going viral as her content gained popularity.
Varsha said, “People laughed at me at first, but then something incredible happened. My videos started to take off, and suddenly, people were following my journey.”
Her talent and hard work led to her getting a spot on the popular dance reality show 'Dance Deewane'. Varsha impressed the judges and the audience with her charm and passion for dancing. One of the judges said, "You’re a real hero. People need to learn from you. You didn’t let life drown you, you fought back.”
During a heartfelt moment on the show, Varsha reflected on her life and said, "I used to dream about this, but never thought it could happen. Life has a funny way of giving you a second chance.”
